Welcome to 2010-2011 School Year!

August 2010

Happy New Year!

On behalf of the Executive Board of the High Tech High Media Arts Parent Association, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all of our new and returning students and families. We’re sure you are all as excited as we are about the new school year and are looking forward to the excellent and inspired educational experiences that await our students.

Our mission, as a Parent Association, is to support our school via grants, teacher support, fundraising, communications and parent education programs. As the parent or guardian of an HTHMA student, you are automatically a member of our Parent Association… no annual dues! A large part of the continued success of our school is thanks to the efforts of our parents and family members who volunteer their time and/or resources.

There are endless opportunities for parents to participate at any level. Our Executive Board meets monthly, the 2nd Monday at 8:30 am. Anyone is welcome to attend and if you would like to add an item to our agenda, just let me know one week in advance.

We will keep you up to date about upcoming events with our email blasts. In addition, our PA website will be updated throughout the year, listing volunteer opportunities, contact information, meeting dates & minutes and important notices.

This is my eighth year as a parent of two High Tech High village students, and I continue to be in awe of the caliber of education, real-world opportunities and over-the-top projects that our kids are offered at our schools. It is no wonder so many families, from all over San Diego County, choose to attend here…this is public education at its best!

I look forward to meeting you and invite you to join the fun in being a part of our vibrant community of parent volunteers. For more information, please feel free to contact me, or any of our board members.

Here’s to another great year at High Tech High Media Arts!
