Parents Meet 'n Greet - New Date
HTHMA
We have rescheduled the Parents Meet 'n Greet because so many of you expressed concern about the conflict with Thursday evening's televised debate: All HTHMA parents are invited to the first Parents Meet 'n Greet Social Hour for the 2008-2009 school year.
Come meet other HTHMA parents on
Thursday October 16 from 5:30-8 pm at the
High Tech High Media Arts Main Commons.
Refreshments will be served.
This is a parent only event, so please, no children.
Please RSVP to Dominique at d.meinke@cox.net or

HTHMA PA Meeting Minutes Aug 15 2008 (unapproved minutes)

Parent Association Meeting
August 15. 2008
Members present: Connie McGaughy, Roberta Ganz, Linda McCue, Dominique Meinke,
Delalle Atrash, Vicky Ross, Pamela Lynd (MikeMcCue, Photographer and in back ground)
The meeting was called to order at 9:30 by Pamela Lynd
Pamela Lynd taking minutes for Joyce McCarthy as she is on vacation
Treasures report:
Roberta Ganz reported from last June 16 statement we had $1903.00 minus a check written for $147 to Todd Linebach
Catwalk money not reported deposited. Pam said she would speak with Brandi Eide to find out about the money as well as getting new signatures. Roberta agreed that the bank statements could be sent to her house so they did not get lost in the shuffle at school.
Discussion of stuffing orientation packages on Monday Aug 18 at HTHI at (:00 am. A flyer for the back to school picnic on Sept 18 was approved as well as a flyer for Back to school coffee and a volunteer mixer on Oct 2 to be included in package. Pam will print 415 9f each flyer at school. If flyer for volunteer mixer does not get finished Dominique will copy for Monday.
Discussion of a blanket email or vm for orientation Aug 20 and back to school coffee for parents Aug 25 discussed. Pam said she would ask Melissa if they were doing one otherwise would contact Gale.
Dominique, Linda and hopefully other volunteers will be at Orientation Aug 20 to speak with parents and get volunteers. Dominique showed her sign up sheets and discussed team parents and their roll in hospitality duties
Dominique took on the roll as Hospitality coordinator in conjunction with volunteer coordinator
Dominique also volunteered to contact Starbucks and bring coffee for the back to school coffee Aug 25 Linda volunteered to bring two coffeecakes from Costco. Connie contacted Jerri Ann Jacobs to coordinate coffee with HTMMA. Discussion will continue at the stuffing.
Vicky Ross discussed Logo shirts and got orders and sizes from members. She said the orders were going in today and they will hopefully be done in a week, possibly for the back to school coffee.
Logo hoodies have been accepted by all the Directors.
The HTHMA PA website was discussed and noted that it needs to be overhauled badly Mike McCue stepped up and volunteered his son Patrick as long as we can get the access codes
Discussion of a photographer for HTHMA. Delalle suggested a woman that took pictures at Catwalk who has a student at our school. Delalle will forward her name an info to Pam. Also it will be mentioned at Back to school night that awe want to take pictures and let us have copies for yearbook.
Back to School night is Wed Sept 10. Linda will sing her song. We will introduce ourselves and Dominique will speak about the volunteer positions.
Back to school dinner for the teachers it was suggested by Dominique to check out soup plantation the do everything. Pam said she would look into it
The Back to school picnic Pam asked everyone to attend Sept 18. Pam is working with Cindy Rhodes on L&L Barbecue. She would like to get ASB involved with flyers and possibly games /carnival. Pam will contacted ASB teacher. Vicky is checking on a dunk tank
HTHMA does not have a banner. Pam is checking with school if they can make one and will also check with neighbor.
We discussed new day for the PA board meetings. It was decided to have the board meetings after the president's councils meetings so HTHMA PA board meetings for 2008-2009 school year will be the 3rd Monday of the month at 8:45 in the conference room at HTHMA
We did discuss the reviewing the by laws. Vicky said that there is to be a meeting with Parliamentarians, School Board presidents and a foundation member to revamp the by laws. It was suggested an attorney be present.
Meeting was adjourned at 10:45.

Attention High Tech High Media Arts Parents!
We're looking for HTHMA parents to volunteer to be Team Parents for the 2008-2009 school year! Being a Team Parent is a unique opportunity to get to know and help your son or daughter's teachers in ways that will be sincerely appreciated. Duties include coordinating Teacher Luncheons, collecting yearbook photos, and coordinating a Catwalk Donation Basket for your child's class!
Parents are needed for 10th, 11th and 12th grades.
